What is Melanotan 2?
Melanotan 2 is a melanocyte stimulating peptide that work by expanding existing melanocytes (pigment cells) to increase the body's ability to tan naturally without the need for fake tan. it usually taken as an injection or via nasal spray. Melanotan 2 has a half-life of 24-36 hours in the body meaning you do not need to take it every day. whilst you are building up to the colour you want to achieve, using it every second day is advised. once you've achieved the colour you desire you can then drop down to once or twice a week simply to maintain the colour. whilst Melanotan 2 has been around for 20 years, the studies on its long-term use are limited. this is not a TGA approved product and is considered for research only.
The Fitzpatrick scale.
Knowing your skin type makes it easy to figure out if Melanotan 2 is right for you. skin types 1-4 are optimum with results sliding down a moving scale with types higher than these. your skin type is based on the readily available melanocytes in your skin. for instance, type 1 skin has low levels to begin with. these people are very pale, always burn and never tan. if you are unsure on your skin type, refer to the attached image. if you are still unsure, hit contact us and we will happily help you in figuring out whether this product if right for you.
The side effects.
Things that are commonly reported with the use of Melanotan 2 include.
-nausea - flushing- reduced appetite - weight loss - sustained and spontaneous erections - an increase in libido for both men and women - darkening of moles and freckles (initially, these blend in over time) - darkening of skin pigment - darkening of hair
